We are currently recruiting for Direct Payments Case Workers based in Blackpool.
Pay rate: £16.62 – £18.36 PAYE /£21.07 – £23.35 umbrella – per hour (paid weekly)
Hours: Full time (37 hrs per week).
Contract duration: Temporary ongoing
Purpose:
- To act as a point of contact for children and adults to access care and support through a Direct Payment.
- Visiting people at home and working with clients, their families and external organisations to support them in making choices and arrangements to meet their assessed care needs. Providing advice and guidance in relation to statutory obligations and record keeping.
- Monitoring and managing client financial information to audit spend.
Duties:
- Working collaboratively within a team and independently, using your own initiative.
- Communicating effectively to guide and support both current and prospective users of the scheme on recruitment and employment matters.
- Monitoring, supporting, advising, and assisting users in managing their Direct Payments packages and finances.
- Reviewing, monitoring, and examining financial records and other relevant documentation held by Direct Payments recipients. This includes keeping detailed records using Microsoft Excel, therefore experience with this programme is essential.
- Conducting home visits and building strong working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Promoting and raising awareness of Direct Payments while contributing to the service’s ongoing development.
- Keeping up-to-date with employment issues and agency provisions.
Essential Criteria:
- Considerable knowledge of financial administration processes, procedures and systems
- Substantial experience of relevant software packages (including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word)
- Understanding of Direct Payments processes, procedures and systems
- Demonstrable time management and organisational skills to meet conflicting demands and deadlines
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with clients and staff of all levels
- Analytical problem solving and judgemental skills
- Ability to deal with conflicting demands, managing time appropriately
- Experience of dealing with confidential, sensitive data
- Experience of direct contact with members of the public
- Ability and willingness to self-develop and keep up to date with relevant procedural and legislative changes
Desirable Criteria:
- Hold an enhanced DBS with Children’s and Adult’s Barred List
