We are currently recruiting for Crime and Incident Auditors.
Pay rate: £265 per day UMB / £203.53 per day PAYE
Location: Flexible working: remote or office-based depending on circumstance
Hours: Full time
Contract duration: Temporary ongoing
Purpose:
The Client is looking for Crime and Incident Auditors to support a targeted audit programme focused on improving crime recording standards, particularly in the area of antisocial behaviour. The role is critical to ensuring compliance with national standards and improving victim support outcomes.
Auditors will review incident reports to determine:
- Whether a crime should have been recorded.
- Whether it was recorded correctly.
- Whether it was classified appropriately.
The aim is to audit up to 1,000 incidents per month, with a focus on identifying under-recorded crimes and improving data quality.
Essential Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in crime recording or auditing.
- Strong working knowledge of the Home Office Counting Rules (Scottish Crime Recording Standards also beneficial).
- Familiarity with Niche RMS (Records Management System) – essential for hitting the ground running.
- Experience with ControlWorks and understanding of incident reporting pathways (e.g. 61016, Single Online Home).
- Ability to apply standards consistently and make informed decisions on complex cases.
- Comfortable reviewing potentially distressing content in incident reports.
