We are currently recruiting for Civilian Investigators based in Sutton.
Pay rate: £22.42 PAYE / £29.11 umbrella – per hour (paid weekly)
Hours: Full time (Monday-Friday) – Hybrid working
Contract duration: Temporary ongoing
Purpose: To support investigations by conducting professional and effective outside enquiries, gathering evidential material, identifying investigative opportunities, and engaging with victims, witnesses and partner agencies. The postholder will work as part of a multidisciplinary investigative team to progress complex and sensitive investigations, ensuring all enquiries are conducted in accordance with legislation, policy and best practice.
Duties:
- Conduct outside enquiries to identify, locate and obtain information from victims, witnesses, suspects and relevant third parties.
- Undertake witness tracing activities to support ongoing investigations.
- Obtain and record witness accounts, evidential statements and intelligence in accordance with relevant procedures.
- Gather, review and submit evidential material from external organisations, businesses, local authorities and partner agencies.
- Liaise with victims and witnesses, providing updates and ensuring a professional and victim-focused service.
- Maintain accurate records of all enquiries, actions and outcomes on relevant police systems.
- Prepare reports, briefing documents and investigation updates for supervisors and investigating officers.
- Work closely with detectives, police staff investigators and partner agencies to develop investigative opportunities.
- Ensure all enquiries are completed within agreed timescales and in accordance with investigative priorities.
Essential Experience:
- Must be PIP2 Qualified
- Experience of conducting investigations, information gathering, interviewing or evidence collection.
