We are currently recruting for a Business Analyst based in London.
Pay rate: £500 (Umbrella, Inside IR35) £387.79 (PAYE, Inside IR35) (paid weekly)
Hours: 7.2 hours – 5 days a week (Full time)
Contract duration: Temporary ongoing
Purpose:
To elicit and develop technology User Requirements, scoping studies and Business Cases (Government Green book). To develop afore mentioned documentation sets to progress projects through due governance to delivery. You will be able to develop a range of documentation formats in order to provide information in a manner suitable to the target audience. In addition, to be a contact for the Client in relation to technology providing advice and guidance. To represent BDSD and the Technology Pillar at corporate and national technology forums.
Duties:
- Assist in the update / maintenance of the BDSD Demand Log and the National Technology Strategy.
- To work with the Client, Finance Services, Commercial Services and external agencies to ensure that projects and programmes are suitably commissioned and ensure they continue to deliver against the needs of the Community.
- Be a key point of advice and escalation with respect to technology projects, programmes, governance & issues.
- Develop relationships with internal and external policing partners / agencies by which to meet the Client’s technology needs.
- Represent the BDSD, the Technology Pillar and the Client, at project / programme boards (both in-house and at corporate forums and at Partner Agencies) by which to influence direction. Where appropriate, to represent the customer at corporate and national technology forums.
- Assist in advising on the suitability of new and emerging technologies to the national Policing Community. To assist in overseeing and coordinating the implementation of national technology projects and initiatives therein to provide / communicate updates on the status of requirements / business cases.
- Working into the Operational Delivery Intelligent Client Unit, assisting with the delivery of project lifecycle deliverables.
- Working across the Client by which to build and maintain stakeholder relationships in order to progress requested project and demand outputs.
- Facilitate workshops and produce appropriate business process models, identifying and implementing improvements.
- Support the Intelligent Client Unit Test Manager to ensure project deliverables meet user requirements/expectations.
- To manage up to two members of staff.
Key requirements:
- Experience in Government Governance: Familiarity with local or central government governance, especially the five-case model and the government green book.
- Workshop Facilitation: Skills in planning and facilitating workshops.
- Delivery Experience: Some experience in delivery to ensure a well-rounded skill set.
- Government Agency Collaboration: Experience working with other government agencies is beneficial.
