We are currently recruiting for a Digital Forensics Professional in Cheshire.
Pay rate: £30,000 – £40,000 (DOE) per annum
Contract duration: Permanent position
Purpose:
The Digital Forensics Professional will oversee the gathering, storing, examining, and reporting of digital evidence. This role requires close attention to detail, strong technical skills, and great communication skills. You will report to a Senior Digital Forensic Professional and be required to work directly with other professionals, internally and externally.
Duties:
- Perform digital device forensic acquisition, including PCs, smartphones, and storage media.
- Utilising industry-standard forensic tools (such as X-Ways, Axiom, and Cellebrite), analyse digital evidence to find, retrieve, and record pertinent information.
- Maintain the authenticity of digital evidence by adhering to appropriate chain-of-custody procedures.
- Collate in depth forensic reports and present evidence to the court when required.
- Work collaboratively with legal teams, business stakeholders, and other experts to help with investigations.
- Keep up to date with new technologies, trends, and best practices in digital forensics.
- Make sure that regulatory standards for digital evidence handling are kept compliant.
Desirable Experience:
- 3 or more years of experience in digital forensics or a similar field.
- Degree in information security or computer science, or comparable work experience.
- Extensive understanding of forensic tools and methodologies.
- Examination of different mobile platforms and operating systems.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- High ethical standards and attention to detail.
- Have provided witness statements in court.
