Director of Public Health – HALTED

We are currently recruiting for a Director of Public Health in Essex.

Pay rate: PAYE £900 per day/UMB £1,129.32 per day.

Hours:  Full time (37 hours per week)

Contract duration: Temporary ongoing.

Purpose:

The Director of Public Health will provide strategic oversight of the continued integration of public health into all aspects of the client’s work. Public health will also have an integral part in the delivery of the positive health impacts from the client’s ambitious regeneration programme to drive growth and economic prosperity across the borough.

Duties: 

• Advise and support Director’s Board members, Cabinet, and portfolio holders in shaping services.
• Develop effective relationships with residents and ensure that the services provided reflect their needs.
• Influence and steer the planning of services.
• Prepare, manage, and monitor the service’s budget.
• Ensure effective leadership, motivation, and development of the service’s staff.
• Regularly review resources, services, and partnership arrangements to identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
• Take a lead role in furthering the client’s commitment to promote diversity and oppose discrimination in the provision of services and as an employer.
• Ensure full compliance with all legislative and statutory requirements including Health and Safety at Work, and the local policy framework.
