We are currently recruiting for Investigative Supervisors based in Greater Manchester.
Pay rate: £26.38 PAYE – per hour (paid weekly)
Hours: Full-time, part-time & compressed hours available
Contract duration: Temporary ongoing
Purpose:
This role focuses on the investigation of antisemitic and other priority hate crime offences, managing cases to a PIP 2 standard, including complex investigations. The team works collaboratively with established Investigation Teams, Neighbourhood Policing, and specialist partners to deliver a consistent and high-quality investigative response, particularly during periods of increased demand linked to key events and community tensions.
Scope:
The team will:
- Investigate antisemitic hate crime and other priority hate crime offences as directed.
- Manage investigations to a PIP 2 standard, including serious and complex cases where appropriate.
- Work closely with:
- Warden Investigation Team
- Neighbourhood Policing Teams
- Protective Security / Specialist Operations
- Work alongside the Warden Investigation Team to share skills, knowledge and investigative workload, ensuring a cohesive and consistent approach to hate crime.
- Support peak demand periods linked to:
- Key religious dates
- Geopolitical events
- Significant community incidents
Duties:
- Oversight of investigative standards and quality assurance
- Allocation and management of workload across both team priorities and shared demand with Warden colleagues
- Performance management and development of investigators
- Liaison with partner teams and senior leadership
Investigators are responsible for:
- End-to-end investigation of hate crime offences
- Victim engagement and safeguarding
- Evidence gathering, case building, and file preparation
- Working with CPS and criminal justice partners
- Collaborative working with Warden teams to ensure shared workload and consistent investigative standards
