We are currently recruiting for a Legacy and Archive Officer in Warrington.
Pay rate: 19.38-20.79 per hour.
Hours: 37.5hrs a week, Monday-Friday. This is a Hybrid role.
Contract duration: Temporary ongoing
Purpose:
- Lead discrete internal and inter-agency teams if required.
- Deliver information management audits for appraisal, selection and sensitivity reviews, and other monitoring.
- To deal with complaints/appeals relating to data that is held by the client and related integrity matters.
- Ensure that data is dealt with in compliance with relevant legislation and protocols.
- Develop and maintain Information Sharing Agreements with partner agencies.
- Develop, deliver and implement information and records management standards.
- Consider legal challenges to reports and produce documents for use at judicial hearings.
Duties:
- Responsible for accurately assessing material against legislative requirements, policy and conventions and maintaining the integrity of the material.
- To produce and maintain Excel spreadsheets and management reports.
- Scan material and edit as necessary using Adobe Pro software and manage the product using emails, Excel spreadsheets and various databases.
- Be responsible for and independently determine material to be scanned or prepared for processing for archiving.
- When assessing material record appropriate rationale for decisions.
- Treat the material in accordance with National Archiving standards and preserve the integrity of it.
- Accurately apply legislation and protocol and apply best practice.
- Ensure that all material, including sensitive data and exhibits, are managed, and handled appropriately.
- Make independent assessments using professional judgement as to the type and nature of preparatory work material requires prior to processing applying legislation, policy, and conventions.

- Proven ability to deal with customers at all levels in difficult situations in a diplomatic manner.
- Able to work on own initiative, unsupervised and maintain standards.
- Demonstrably excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated the ability to work on a number of complex tasks simultaneously.
- Presented the ability to manage a wide and divergent caseload that is subject to frequent change, often at short notice, and within stringent timescales.
Experience: (essential)
– Approachable and diplomatic and remain calm in a busy and demanding environment.
– Extensive experience of computer systems and Standard software packages relevant to the client’s area with a good working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases.
– Demonstrable experience in developing and writing procedures, reports and working practices.
– Previous experience demonstrating research and/or analytical skills (could be part of a degree course).
Experience: (Desirable)
– Understanding/experience of audit processes and techniques.
– Good understanding/experience of partnership working, disclosure and information sharing issues and principles.
– Experience of owning and leading a project, or sub project where projects are on a large scale, including directing and tasking other members of staff.
