Media Relations Lead – HALTED

We are currently recruiting for a Media Relations Lead (Remote).

Pay rate: £550 – £600 Umbrella / £387.79 to £464.94 PAYE per day

Contract duration: Temporary ongoing

Purpose:

• To support the Client in achieving its strategic objectives by leading, directing and coordinating all aspects of its media relations (both traditional and digital). They are responsible for developing and leading the media relations team in delivering proactive and reactive media handling strategies and plans. They will manage the day-to-day running of the media relations desk – the central point of contact for regional, specialist and national media.
• They will support the Head of External Affairs and Media in the establishment of a social media monitoring and engagement service, oversee the day to day running of that service, and assist with the evaluation of the service against demand. They will also lead the media relations advisors and social media engagement officers in supporting the Client in the prevention and detection of crime, as well as building trust and public confidence.
• They will act as subject matter expert providing advice to the Client on the strategic management of high-profile media relations cases and crisis management communications. They will strive to influence public behaviour and build public trust and confidence through leading, directing and managing media handling activity.

Specific Criteria: 

• Educated to degree level in English, Politics, History, Media, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or similar professional qualification or relevant equivalent experience.
• Post-graduate qualification in relevant subject or significant relevant experience at this level.
• Knowledge of communication Law.
• Must have a policing background.
