We are currently recruiting for a PMO Analyst in London.

 

Pay rate: PAYE £311.31-£325.53 per day/UMB £400-£419 per day.

Hours:  Full time (5 days per week onsite).

Contract duration: Temporary ongoing

 

Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to provide a high level of proactive support to the project and/or programme manager(s) and team, to enable the delivery of change across the full project lifecycle.

 

Duties: 

  • Planning, reporting, risk management and issue resolution activities, utilising tools such as the risk and issue registers, project plans, assumptions and dependencies logs.
  • Ensuring overall project delivery is managed to a defined project plan, working with the team, business, suppliers and other relevant national Programmes to define key activities and timings.
  • Providing support to ensure the proactive management of risks and issues, dependencies, resources, costs and milestones associated with the implementation of projects.
  • Ensuring regular reporting requirements are maintained through working closely with the Change Portfolio Office, the Project Manager and that the project continues to adhere to required documentation standards.
  • Being a champion for the Portfolio Office standards ensuring adherence to best practice and guidance within your projects and programmes.
  • Coordination and administration of Project/Programme Boards, ensuring the production of reporting packs, logistical coordination of meetings, and full administrative duties; minute taking, recording decision making and actions accurately in the appropriate project logs. Ensure updates are given for the subsequent boards/meetings and monitor progress.
  • Ensuring control documentation is created, maintained and updated regularly, working with the PMO Manager, Project Manager and wider team.
  • Administering the change control process through completion of required documentation and supporting related activities (impact assessments) in line with Portfolio Office guidance.
  • Supporting the Project Manager with budget management including developing and maintaining the Project Financial Plan (PFP) and management of Purchase Orders.
  • Providing appropriate document and information management on behalf of the project; ensuring project folders are kept tidy and well structured, with a document register for key items maintained throughout the lifecycle.
  • Providing on-boarding information to new joiners to the project team around project scope, stakeholders, ways of working and current status.
  • Supporting facilitation of workshops and assist in the development of project and programme deliverables or products.
  • Enabling the development of project Business Cases (and/or other stage gate documentation) through supporting tasks, activities and co-ordination as required by the Project Manager.
  • Supporting the project manager to ensure the project closure documentation is managed effectively, supporting development of closure documentation and helping ensure that any post-project reviews are appropriately established with the business.
  • Proactively identifying and integrating best practice into project management processes, fostering continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Must embody the PPMS Principles for Team Working.

 

Essential Experience:

  • Previous experience working within a project and programme management environment.
  • Knowledge of or direct experience in applying programme and project management approaches such as MSP, Agile and PRINCE2.
  • Prince2 or similar appropriate training will be provided as an ‘essential’ course required for successful execution of the role if not already held by the successful candidate.

 

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience of establishing and implementing project control mechanisms in a project and/or programme or business environment.
  • Previous experience of working in (local) government, a security agency or policing.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets for informed decision making
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment, adapting to changing project needs.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software.
