We are currently recruiting for a Project Assistant in Manchester.

 

Pay rate: £16 per hour (£120 per day).

Hours:  37.5hrs per week (Hybrid – minimum of two days at head office per week).

Contract duration: Temporary ongoing

 

Purpose:

The client is looking for an experienced project assistant to work within the Learning and Course Development business area of the organisation. Working for the Project Manager, you will provide support in the design, delivery, evaluation and resourcing of projects across the business area with your efforts contributing to the successful of the ventures.

 

Duties: 

  • Conducting research and gathering data to support project initiatives and encourage good decision-making practices.
  • Creating timelines, milestones and deliverables to contribute to effective project planning.
  • Providing support to project implementation, guaranteeing quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Diligently maintain the project files and progress reports.
  • Follow up on the progress of action items and other tasks and subsequently report to the project manager.
  • Use project management software to facilitate the design and maintenance of process flows and other project management tools.
  • Lead in the scheduling of meetings, conference calls and project related events.
  • Assisting in the preparation for project presentations and reports for the project manager.
  • Assistant with risk mitigation, identification, tracking, management and resolution.
  • Writing and distributing project-related communications including proofreading.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help implement effective and satisfactory communication processes between project members.
  • Assist the project manager with budgeting, logging expenses and filing financial reports.
  • Providing general administrative support to the Project Manager and other project members.
  • Seeking opportunities for process improvements and making recommendations.
  • Supporting team members in completing their tasks to ensure they successfully meet their deliverables.
  • Application of data analysis techniques and the ability to present concisely to the Project Manager.

 

Essential Experience: 

  • Good working knowledge of standard IT packages and databases including web-based management information systems and web authoring.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant practical working experience in project development and implementation.
  • Ability to use a variety of data analysis techniques.
  • Experience of proofreading corporate documentation or other distributed material.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced administrative function.
  • Competent in the use of standard computer packages: e.g. Word; Outlook; SharePoint etc.
  • Experience of maintaining excellent records, creating comprehensive plans and preparing detailed reports.
  • Experience of servicing / minuting meetings.
  • Knowledge of financial processes and budget management.
  • Evidence of working within specific frameworks or compliance regulations.

 

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Minimum requirement of five GCSES at Grades A-C and/or equivalent project management certification.

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management or business administration or similar.
