We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager in Exeter.

 

Pay rate: PAYE £336.64 per day/UMB 435.01 per day.

Hours:  Full time (40 hrs per week).

Contract duration: Temporary ongoing.

 

Purpose:

The role involves leading and controlling medium risk projects to deliver business change in support of the Corporate Plan. You will be responsible for leading projects from initiation through to successful conclusion. Our PM’s are involved in a wide range of areas and our current demand is for a project Manager experienced in software rollouts. Your primary project will be to test and launch Windows 11 as the successor of Windows 10 across our estate. You may also be asked to coordinate smaller software related projects concurrently, such as delivery of a new recruitment applicant tracking System.

 

Duties: 

  • Delivery – Create and lead the project to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Project Management – Day to day management and leadership of the project and the project team. Set project controls. Design the project structure appropriate to stage. Select and apply appropriate delivery methodologies.
  • Business Case – Coordinate development of the Business Case.
  • Budget – Track delivery within budget.
  • Resources – Schedule / manage resources to deliver the project. Working independently or with a small team.
  • Benefits Realisation – Ensure benefits are identified, understood, measured, tracked and owned. Ensure appropriate Benefits Realisation Strategy is in place and monitor longer term delivery of benefits against the Business Case.
  • Stakeholder Management – Identify key stakeholders and develop effective relationships.
  • Risks & Issues – Identify and monitor project risks and issues. Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate.
  • Governance – Provide key reports and support effective governance and decision making.
  • Assurance – Support or set appropriate project assurance.
  • Change Management – Ensure effective Change Management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.
  • Guidance & Support – Seek appropriate support, guidance and coaching from the project community. Show commitment to personal development. Promote effective individual and team performance.
  • Project Performance & Controls – Build Project Plan and apply appropriate project principles to deliver stated objectives. Identify and set appropriate Project Controls. Track and report delivery against milestones.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Prince2 Practitioner and/or APM (Association for Project Management) Certificate or equivalent project related experience
  • Can demonstrate experience of delivering a project using standard procedures and methodologies.
  • A proven ability to manage issues and recommend solutions through formal and informal channels, securing effective outcomes.
  • Proven ability to co-ordinate multiple activities and work streams, handling shifting demands and priorities, to deliver a customer requirement or business benefit.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven track record of successful liaison with stakeholders to deliver Business Change

 

Desirable criteria:

  • Having experience in IT projects relating to software rollouts such as client OS upgrades and/or software application installations would be advantageous.
