Victim Identification Officer – HALTED

We are currently recruiting for a Victim Identification Officer in Preston.

Pay rate: £15.48 per hour.

Contract duration: Temporary ongoing

Purpose:

• Identify victims of child abuse and provide evidence that supports the investigation and prosecution of suspects; by examining the digital, visual, and audio content of relevant media.
• To be the Client’s single point of contact for the national Child Abuse Image Database (CAID) in relation to victim ID.

Experience:

• Using software to sanitise images and produce images in a format suitable for onward secure transportation.
• Knowledge of intelligence gathering procedures and policies.
• Experience and knowledge of the Criminal Justice System relating to the PACE Act, including searching premises, handling exhibits, interviewing suspects, and CPIA 1996, relating to disclosure.
• Working on own initiative, investigating problems, developing solutions and taking appropriate timely action to resolve them.
• Maintaining & interrogating computerised systems and manual filing systems.
• Communicating at all levels with a wide range of audiences.
• Working effectively and efficiently as part of a team and working with minimal supervision.
• Working in partnership with other departments and outside agencies.
• Dealing with difficult situations or conflicts.
• Maintaining strict confidentiality using tact and diplomacy where appropriate

Qualification:

• PIP Level 1 accreditation.
